Service
COPE offers many service projects that empower families and builds bridges between other organizations in the community.
Stuff the Bus
For the second straight year, COPE has successfully 'stuffed the bus' with nonperishable groceries and personal care items! With the help of families in District 65, we collected over 1,000 bags of items, then sorted and distributed filled bags to over 200 families in Evanston. In addition, we also had enough food for three months supply of our Monthly Grocery Program which feeds more than 50 families in the district! We once again worked with amazing partners including Valli Produce, Positive Connections, Whole Foods, BMO Harris, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Trader Joe's, Jewel-Osco, Dajae Coleman Foundation and The Justin Wynn Fund. Our COPE reps and volunteers have been invaluable in collecting, sorting and distributing the bags as well as raising funds to provide for our Monthly Grocery Program. |
Service Project
In Spring 2014, COPE held a district-wide service event, where we decorated Buddy Benches to promote anti-bullying. With the help of kids, teachers, and COPE volunteers, there is a Buddy Bench in every District 65 school. |
